Enjoy & Relax
in The Hague

Leisure

The Hague surprises its new inhabitants with some features that make this city unique: 11 kilometers of beach and dunes, 2.200 acres of parcs, 116.000 trees. And with world famous museums like The Mauritshuis with its Goldfinch and Girl With The Pearl Earring, the Gemeentemuseum and its Mondriaan paintings and a picture postcard city centre, rest and relaxation are just around the corner.

Quality of life

The Hague was recently voted by ECA International as the 12th best city to live in worldwide. This organization ranks cities on the basis of a broad range of qualities, such as cost of living, labour law and the quality of life. The Dutch and their expat colleagues like to work hard and prosper, but they love their free weekends as well. They visit the world famous Mauritshuis, the Escher Museum or the Gemeentemuseum. They take a canal trip or picnic in the back gardens of the Royal Palace. They are carried away by the world class ballet of the Netherlands Dance Theater, they walk the dog through vast and old woodland, they refresh and reset at the two seaside resorts: Scheveningen and Kijkduin. The local residents and large numbers of students can be found sitting outside the bars that are dotted all over the place. And for those who like to shop: please be welcome in one of the many, many specialty shops and flagstores. This is The Hague
